Two gymnasts that train in Dunmore will be ivy bound this fall, committing to their universities at a signing on Wednesday evening.

 

Local gymnasts headed to Ivy Leagues

DUNMORE, Pa. — It was a very special night Wednesday for two gymnasts in Lackawanna County.

Sara Goetter and Lucy Toczydlowski committed to Ivy League schools tonight at the United Sports Academy in Dunmore.

Sara will head to Cornell, and Lucy to University of Pennsylvania in the fall.

“It’s such an amazing experience. I’ve been working so hard for this for so long, so it feels great to finally achieve what I’ve been working for my whole life.” said Goetter.

“I’m just so excited and so grateful that I have such an amazing support system who is here to sign with me and just be here with me” said Toczylowski

Lucy plans to major in pre-law or economics.

Sara is majoring in biology with hopes of going to dental school.
